The banded butterflyfish is a butterflyfish found in the western Atlantic Ocean from Brazil to Bermuda.
The name is derived from the dark vertical bands on the fish's body. This, combined with a vertical, black bar through the eye, is an adaptation that can confuse predators.

The umbrella alga grows singly or in clusters. Each individual thallus consists of a single cell with a single nucleus. There is a holdfast where the alga is attached to the substrate and a long, slender, calcified stipe or stalk. The thallus is emerald green and cup-shaped, or occasionally flattened, with twenty two to thirty rays. The stipe is up to 7 centimetres (2.8 in) long and the disc up to 7 millimetres (0.28 in) in diameter. In immature specimens, the stipe has a complex structure of short branches but by the time the alga reaches maturity, only the scars of these remain.

Caulerpa mexicana consists of erect fronds with flattened branchlets arising from a creeping stolon with rhizoidal branches attaching it to the substrate. Fronds 15-25cm in height, branchlets 2-4mm in width. Color generally grass-green. Midrib of frond is flat with branchlets oppositely arranged along its axis, branchlets slightly overlapping and pointed upwards with a general feather-like appearance. Similar in structure to C. taxifolia which has a compressed midrib and branchlets that become constricted at the base.

The Corky Sea Finger Briareum asbestinum, often called the Purple Corky Finger, has a beauty all its own. This finger-like gorgonian grows over other gorgonians to form its shape. Found in the Western Atlantic Ocean, they inhabit all areas of the reef in conditions with both pristinely pure waters as well as nutrient rich waters. They are the most collected gorgonian species since they are commonly found in shallow waters only knee deep. Some common names they are known for are Purple Corky Finger, Moss Coral, Caribbean Corky Finger, Sea Stalk Briareum, and Deadman's Finger.

They are normally found in clear settle waters for they do not like areas in which sediment is stirred up so their pores are not clogged up which makes it more difficult for them to breathe. They are beautiful sponges which are loved for there unique shape and color.
